Carl Junction R-1 mourns passing of former superintendent, board member Glenn Coltharp

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dr. Glenn Coltharp on October 7, 2024. Dr. Coltharp dedicated his life to education, serving as the Carl Junction Superintendent of Schools from 1996 to 1998, and later as a valued member of the Board of Education from 2004 to 2014 and again from 2015 to 2018. 

His impact on our community was profound, and in 2018, the Carl Junction Educational Foundation honored his legacy by naming a scholarship in his name.

A true pillar of the education community, Dr. Coltharp brought humor, laughter, and wit into the world of education, enriching the lives of countless students and colleagues. Many educators in our area have been influenced by his passion and dedication, whether as a mentor, friend, or fellow educator.

As we reflect on his remarkable contributions, we take this moment to honor and thank Dr. Coltharp for everything he did for Carl Junction and the surrounding areas. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends during this difficult time. You will be missed, Dr. Coltharp. Thank you for your service and dedication.
