Body of 14-year-old murder victim found in brush area in rural Springfield

On January 28, 2025 the Springfield Police Department was given information that a juvenile female had been shot and killed at an unknown location by associates. 

Subsequently, a female adult called the Greene County Sheriff’s Office to report her daughter missing from an address in the 5600 block of West Farm Rd. 140 where she last knew her daughter to be located.








Deputies responded to 5622 W Farm Rd 140 to begin an investigation. At approximately 4:30pm Greene County Deputies located the body of a young female in a brush area behind the residence.
This investigation is ongoing. Detectives are working to locate persons of interest and there is no believed threat to the public.

Update

The victim in this case has been identified as 14-year-old Jackie Strahle of Springfield, MO. Her family has been notified.








We know there are screenshots of messages from her associates going around social media. We want to assure our community that every lead is being followed up on. This investigation is still ongoing and our detectives continue to work thoroughly to solve this case.

Oh my goodness this is so sad for her family and friends. What a beautiful young lady. My thoughts and prayers go to all involved.

This is why parents need to be INVOLVED! Look at her multiple social media accounts. Her parents had to be aware of who she was hanging out with. So sad she wasn’t loved enough to prevent this.
