The Newton County Prosecuting Attorney's office filed a second-degree rape charge today against Nathan R. Koehler, 18, Seneca, alleging he forcibly raped a 14-year-old girl.
A warrant was issued for Koehler's arrest with a $100,000 code bond.
From the probable cause statement:
On 01/21/25 at approximately 5:52 PM I, Officer Kirby, was dispatched to an address in Seneca in reference to a possible attempted rape that occurred involving a 14-year-old victim and an 18-year-old suspect.Upon contact with the victim and her parents it was stated to me that Nathan Kohler, an 18-year-old who lived nearby, forced himself onto the 14-year-old victim while in the victim's bedroom on December 18, 2024.
An additional juvenile witness was also in the room when the incident happened and confirmed the incident happened.
The victim's mother stated that after she found thís information out that she had her daughter contact Kohler by phone and that in the contact the victim stated to Kohler that he "tried to rape" her and in response Kohler stated, "Sorry about that."
Kohler told Seneca Police he had sex with the girl, but didn't complete the act, according to the probable cause statement "and that he knew it was wrong due to their differences in age."

Nathan R. Koehler, just got a wake-up call - which as an adult should put him in jail for a while. So sorry for the Victim and any Child/Victim that has been Abused, and hope she gets whatever help she needs. She showed true strength and determination coming forward and making sure that Nathan Koehler, was not going to get away with his actions.
Again, no matter what type of Abuse - Physical or Verbal, Intimidation, Bullying, Threats, Stalking, Harassment, Digital Abuse - Social Media, Texts, and Emails - Do not turn a blind eye - Report it - Do not let this happen to you or others.
In this Blog you read Article after Article - about Pedophiles and Domestic Abusers - this is such a small amount that is ever Reported to the Authorities due to Fear and Shame and sometimes our Society Blames the Victims for what they perceive as the Victim's Fault - Yet Abuse is Abuse and Victims need our Empathy and to Feel Safe in Facing their Abusers and putting them behind Bars.
National Domestic Violence - Statistics
An average of 24 people per minute are victims of rape, physical violence or stalking by an intimate partner in the United States — more than 12 million women and men over the course of a single year.
Approximately 1 in 5 women and 1 in 7 men who experienced rape, physical violence, and/or stalking by an intimate partner first experienced some form of partner violence between 11 and 17 years of age.
9.4% of high school students reported being hit, slapped, or physically hurt intentionally by their partner in the previous 12 months.
Do Not Let Abuse Happen to your Child, Mother, Sister or Friend and Remember Abuse happens to Both Genders. Protect them All!!!

Read the whole probable cause it’s left out info on the “victim”
12:36PM, I would assume it had to leave out information, since she is a Minor (Age-14). Again, she is the Victim, not the Perpetrator. Nathan R. Koehler, was the Adult - Who should have known better and admits the Victim was 14.
Again, Do Not Put yourself in these Situations - Walk-Away - Run. Now he will have to Deal with the Consequences of his Actions - Just like any other Adult. Guess what you want to be an Adult - well now he is Charged as an Adult and Possible if Convicted will have to Register the Rest of his Live as a Sex Offender.
When registering as a sex offender in Missouri, you must provide the following information:
Personal information: Name, date of birth, Social Security number, address, and physical description. You will Registered in the State and National Database of Sex Offenders
Photo and palm print: A photograph and palm print of the offender.
DNA sample: A DNA sample of the offender.
Offense: The nature of the offense for which the offender was convicted.
Online identifiers: Any usernames or screen names the offender uses online.
Proof of residency: A driver's license or other proof of residency.
Vehicle registration: A photocopy of the vehicle registration for each vehicle the offender owns or operates.
Under Missouri law, sex offenders cannot be within 500 feet of a childcare center. The law also bars sex offenders from being within 500 feet of a public park, swimming pool, athletic complex, museum, or nature center that exists primarily for use by children.
Any Violations of Failure of Registering - Will Result in Jail Time.
If Convicted it will affect the Rest of Mr. Nathan R. Koehler's Life - Parents need to Talk with their Children and make them Understand that Bad Decisions can cost you - your Freedom and Follow you the Rest of your Life.
