Speck also will be afforded an opportunity to respond to any concerns raised by that committee before any full-faculty election would be called, faculty senate President Roger Chelf said Saturday.
The Globe, citing faculty senate secretary Gerald Schlink, had reported that the faculty senate was still awaiting volunteers for the committee as of Friday and that the committee was substantially short of being in place.
But Chelf, who has actually been assembling the ad hoc committee, on Saturday said he had originally envisioned the panel would consist of seven to eight tenured faculty members. He said that the committee already has seven members: Chelf himself, Linda Hand, Casey Cole, Scott Cragin, Stephen Schiavo, Richard Spencer and Danny Overdeer.
