Second straight day of big gains for media companies

Saga Communications, owner of KOAM and KFJX in the Joplin/Pittsburg market, had a second straight big day Wednesday, closing at $14.75 per share, up 63 cents from Tuesday. The stock has gained 1.05 per share in two days.

Nexstar Broadcasting, owner or operator of KSNF and KODE in Joplin and KOLR and KSFX in Springfield, saw its stock improve 48 cents to $3.21 per share. The price is up 52 cents per share over two days.

Gannett, owner of the Springfield News-Leader, was up 93 cents per share to $9.99, after an increase of 38 cents the previous day.
