Phil Burkybile 20, Joplin, was arraigned in Jasper County Circuit Court today and pleaded not guilty to charges of driving while intoxicated, aggravated fleeing, second-degree assault and property damage.
Burkybile allegedly tried to run over a Joplin Police Department officer. The officer shot Burkybile. Burkybile's injuries were not serious and he was treated at a Joplin hospital.
