Friday, Oct. 17, will be a big day in the life of convicted killer Dennis Skillicorn.
That is the day the U. S. Supreme Court will decide if it will hear the appeal of Skillicorn's death sentence, Four Justices have to vote to grant certiorari in order for the case to receive a full hearing.
Skillicorn was scheduled to be the first Missouri inmate executed since 2005, but his Aug. 27 execution date was delayed when the Missouri Supreme Court ruled Skillicorn's lawyer had not been given the opportunity to conduct the necessary interviews for his clemency appeal.
