No more robocalls, hopefully

Though it has been a fascinating presidential election, I am sure I have much company in being happy to see it coming to a conclusion.
Hopefully, this will be the election that finally brings about some action to ban robocalls. The day when these were useful has long since passed. I grew tired of messages on my answering machine from the the Republican National Committee, filling me in about William Ayers, Jeremiah Wright, or whoever or whatever was the subject of the latest desperate attempt to squeeze out a few more McCain votes.

I was also irritated to receive a robocall from Joe Biden telling me to watch Barack Obama's infomercial. What made the call all the more exasperating was the fact that it came when the infomercial was already almost over. Now that is planning!

The mailings have also been an irritant. I not only have received daily mailings from the McCain-Palin campaign, but also three copies of each one. I am happy to receive a daily mailing and I looked all of them over carefully, but please just send me one. Show me that you have an understanding of how to wisely spend money.
