The soon-to-depart Gannett Blog, which writes on all matters affecting the parent company of the Springfield News-Leader, noted last week's controversy concerning the News-Leader's connection to Student Welcome Pack, a product which included condoms and an ad for an erotic business, and made it appear that it was connected to Missouri State University.
Among the comments:
The Springfield story is HILARIOUS! It couldn't happen to a better (not) newspaper! This is what happens when you prostitute yourself out for ad revenue no matter the cost! It serves them right and I hope they get hit with a HUGE lawsuit.
What makes the Springfield story more than just funny is that when the packets were first reported circulated, the News-Leader DIDN'T report that they were a Gannett product or that the News-Leader had anything to do with them.

Tony was lucky when he got out of that train wreck in progress. I wouldn't spend money on the newspaper they produce. They cut the size of the pages and the ad section is smaller in quantity as well. You need a magnifying glass to look at the comics; that is, after you find them.
I wish they'd hurry up and bury Michael. I like his music but the coverage has become insane.
