This should be a night when Carthage Press web traffic goes through the roof, courtesy of Jasper County Sheriff Archie Dunn's arrest of two suspects in the murders of Bob and Ellen Sheldon of Carthage.
The traffic is probably headed there, but not finding much when it arrives. The Press had two early updates on the subject, but has not posted a more complete story, allowing every one of its competitors to get a jump.
I would guess this can be blamed at the powers that be at GateHouse Media and not the Press staff.

Why can't you blame the Press staff for this? Why do you have to blame Gatehouse? The editors of the Press have always given their website the lowest possible priority.
Gatehouse is supposed to be cracking the whip
And why should they give the Web site top priority? Subscribers pay to get the newspaper, advertisers pay to be in the newspaper, shouldn't the people who pay get first crack at the news instead of all the cheapskates who just want to get all their news free from the web?
It is not a matter of giving the website top priority, it is a matter of them giving The Carthage Press top priority. Get the story out, and then follow up in the next day's newspaper. When tomorrow's Press comes out, this story will be 24 hours old, and if it is rehashed information readers have already read or seen somewhere else, why should they bother? The big, breaking stories are the ones that absolutely have to go on the web.
I guess your hero John Hacker let you down. Anyone at the Press can update the site at any time. It's not a GateHouse issue...it's a lazy staff issue.
