A look at the campaign mailer that is the source of complaint against Blunt

In a Dec. 17 post, Jim Lee at Busplunge broke the story about Seventh District Congressman Roy Blunt's "informational" mailer, which looked suspiciously like campaign advertising, though the mailing was paid for by the taxpayers through Blunt's franking privilege.

In a Dec. 18 post, Lee showed how Blunt's mailer was almost identical to one sent out earlier by Congressman Denny Rehberg of Montana one which was also paid for by the taxpayers.

This is nothing but a political stunt by the Democratic party. Personally, I think publicly funded mailings should be completely eliminated, at both the state and federal level. I've never received a mailing from any elected official that was anything but 100% self-promotion, though some disguise it better than others. It all goes straight into the recycling can.
