Tornado warning allowed to expire; Joplin/Jasper County under severe thunderstorm warning

Sirens are still sounding in Joplin though the tornado warning has been allowed to expire.

On KZRG, it was noted that the sirens are sounded when winds are above 75 miles per hour. The following thunderstorm warning was just issued by the National Weather Service:

SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS ALONG A LINE EXTENDING FROM NEUTRAL TO 6 MILES
NORTHWEST OF RACINE TO 11 MILES SOUTHWEST OF RACINE...MOVING
NORTHEAST AT 45 MPH. THESE STORMS ARE CAPABLE OF PRODUCING NICKEL
SIZE HAIL...AND DAMAGING WINDS IN EXCESS OF 60 MPH.

INTERSTATE 44 BETWEEN MILE MARKERS 0 AND 32 WILL ALSO BE IMPACTED BY
THESE STORMS.

THIS REPLACES THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING THAT WAS PREVIOUSLY IN
EFFECT FOR THE AREA.
