Rebuild Joplin names Kate Massey executive director

(From Rebuild Joplin)

As Rebuild Joplin continues its mission to connect needs and resources, they are pleased to announce the addition of Kate Massey as Executive Director. Garen McMillian, a financial advisor with Wells Fargo Advisors, has spent the past 85 days as volunteer Executive Director. “Kate is an incredible person and a consummate professional. As Rebuild Joplin grows, she will be instrumental in shaping a model of support that we feel will benefit the entire community,” said McMillian.

Massey has served in senior roles in public and community relations in her past work with Freeman Health Systems, the Carthage Convention & Visitors Bureau and Edward Jones. She has a bachelor’s degree in Communication from Pittsburg State University. "I've learned amazing things can be accomplished when people unite with a common goal. I'm excited to work for Rebuild Joplin, an organization that is committed to seeing Joplin fully recover from the tornado,” said Massey.

Rebuild Joplin is a Bright Futures initiative. "Our team is committed to having a positive impact and we are delighted to have Kate on board," said Kim Vann, Executive Director of Bright Futures.

Bright Futures is a grass roots, community based program that creates partnerships and utilizes community resources for the common goal of helping our kids and strengthening our families and community. In the wake of the tornado, Bright Futures adapted a successful program to meet the needs of those impacted by the tornado.
