The letter is from a soldier that was yearning for his love back home. When this letter fell into Brenda Sellers' hands she realized just how important it was to get it back to who it belonged to. Of course, easier said than done. As the letter was found in the endless sea of debris after the Joplin tornado.
So much was lost in the Joplin tornado--lives, homes, and memories--but in the midst of all the rubble a letter was found. "I thought it would be wind damaged and soaked," said Brenda Sellers, "and the letter is almost perfect."
The condition of the letter is surprising considering the letter was written July 4t, 1965 to be exact. "He's from Fort Lewis and he was in the army. It had to be during Vietnam at the time."
