Gov. Nixon defends son after marijuana arrest
Of course, I am doing my bit by posting this, but why is this news? If Gov. Nixon is arrested, splash it across the front pages and let it lead the evening news, but his son is not a public official.

So what? Gov. Nixon has to deal with what so many other parents have to deal with. The Bush daughter bought Margaritas with a false ID, she wasn't the only one in TX either. Before 9/11, fake id's were sold in the open. These are family matters, not public.
The children of public officials who disobey the laws that their parents make up should be punished at least ten times for the same offense as a child of an ordinary citizen. After all, if you make the rules, then if you and yours cannot obey them, then why should any one else?
Rather than defend his son for disobeying the drug laws, Jay Nixon should immediately pardon everyone who has done what his son stands accused of doing.
And, it is a matter of character. If Jay Nixon's child is above the law, then the general public has a right to know about it.
10:26 It is obvious you do not know what you are talking about. His son is not above the law, he was arrested and will face consequences just like anyone else. That does not give a free pass to you or a family member whatever your case is, to be given a pass anymore than him. The fact that he was arrested shows that he is not above the law.
7:25 sounds like a PR flack from the governor's office seeking to make an excuse for the governor's, ex-attorney general's kid.
Anyone who doesn't know or care to acknowledge that there is one law for the rich and powerful and another for the commons is a liar or a fool or both.
I still recollect twenty years ago how Ashcroft's nephews running a drug-selling ring out of Springfield got a slap on the wrist because 'Uncle John' was the governor and ex-attorney general.
The more things pretend to change the more they stay exactly the same.
Anonymous at 5:11 states that small amounts of marijuana should be legalized. I'm with you, chasing after marijuana is a complete waste of time, money and effort. Forget it. As long as Camel cigarettes are on the store shelf they have no reason to bad mouth marijuana.

@2:07,
Facts please. I don't trust your libelous recollection.
We should legalize possession of small amounts of weed anyway. Shouldn't the govt have anything better to do?
