Brad Lager announced at the Newton County Watermelon Feed Tuesday night that he had received the endorsement of former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, but the official endorsement was released today. The news release is printed below.
Governor Mike Huckabee today announced his support and endorsement for Brad Lager's campaign for Lieutenant Governor. Governor Huckabee called Lager the "true conservative" in the race, praising his support for conservative ideas and values.
"Together with Huck PAC, I am pleased to endorse and support Brad Lager as Missouri's next Lieutenant Governor. Missouri Republicans have a clear choice in the primary for Lieutenant Governor. They have the opportunity to send a true conservative to their state capitol to defend the taxpayer and fight for the conservative causes we hold dear. Brad Lager is a family man who is solidly pro-life. He has an A-plus rating with the National Rifle Association - the highest rating they give. And he has fought Obamacare every step of the way. Brad Lager is a small business owner who recognizes the challenges that job creators are facing in these difficult economic conditions. Now, more than ever, we need conservative leaders we can trust. I encourage Missourians to send some new blood to Jefferson City on August 7 by supporting Brad Lager for Lieutenant Governor."
Brad Lager said: “I am honored to receive the endorsement of Governor Mike Huckabee. He has spent his life fighting for conservative values, faith and freedom. He understands that if you want to change the direction of your state, you must change the leaders within your state. Missouri conservatives clearly have a choice in this election and a chance to change course by sending someone who will fight for their values in Jefferson City."
