Though my guess is that Rex Sinquefield's policy think tank, the Show-Me Institute's opposition to Common Core Standards is more based on the fact that they weren't created by Sinquefield and other public education opponents, there is still much to consider in this video.
Dr. James Shuls of the Show-Me Institute explains how the federal government has pushed for these standards through the use of Race to the Top funding.
My worry about Common Core Standards is that they are going to increase teaching to the test and heading more toward a type of education will take us on a race to the bottom.
