The Bright Futures program, started by Superintendent C. J. Huff in Joplin, is catching on across the state of Missouri.
Bright Futures Executive Director Kim Vann told the Joplin R-8 Board of Education moments ago that Bright Futures has already expanded to 14 communities with eight more in the process of beginning the program.
Even more communities are likely to begin their own chapters as a result of a $100,000 allocation from the Missouri Legislature to Bright Futures USA.
"The legislators feel positive that this a very good program for children," Ms. Vann said.
