Coverage of today's Joplin High School Dedication Ceremony and Ribbon-Cutting is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. and, barring technical difficulties can be watched right here.
Speeches will be given by Vice President Joe Biden, Secretary of Education Arne Duncan, and others.

Rumor has it that a significant number of Joplin students decided to stay home (with parental consent) and celebrate CJ Huff day.
I propose that our city council officially declare the annual holiday of: October 3, CJ Huff day; so that children can stay home, thereby improving learning.
