August 4 arraignment set for Neosho man charged with arson, bond set at $50,000 cash

A 1:30 p.m. August 4 arraignment is scheduled in Newton County Circuit Court for a Neosho man charged with arson and property damage in connection with the June 11 fire that nearly destroyed Recreation Life Center Thrift Shop.

Twelve days after the fire, Arkansas authorities arrested Joshua Alan Love, 37, on charges of driving while intoxicated, assaulting two law enforcement officers and felony arrest by fleeing.

At that point, Newton County Prosecuting Attorney William Lynch filed a motion to revoke Love's bond, which at that point had been $2,500. Following a June 26 hearing, Judge Jacob Skouby set bond at $50,000 cash only.

As the Turner Report noted June 24, at the time Skouby set the original bond on the arson case, Love was already awaiting trial on domestic assault, property damage and felony escape charges for crimes allegedly committed March 22, felony domestic assault and resisting arrest charges following an April 20 incident and felony driving while intoxicated for a 2018 arrest.

Love's Arkansas DWI arrest was at least his fourth in the past three years.
