Tyson is throwing 1,533 people into unemployment, closing the plant where some have worked for decades, but Tyson will do whatever it can to make it easier.
The mayor must have breathed a sigh of relief when he read that comment.
A few words of advice to Mr. Chapman.
Drop the "team members" nonsense. They're your workers. You're not playing basketball.
"Displaced" is another meaningless word designed to make what is happening sound like a picnic in the park.
The workers are losing their jobs.
You have given your workers two months to find new employment- that is something and while it doesn't lessen the impact of the decision, it gives workers time to adjust and to try to come up with a plan.
Above all, Mr. Chapman, if you ever have to write another letter like this in the future and I am sure at some point you will, try to remember that you still have a job- and try to imagine what you would want to be told if your bosses ever decide to take away that job.
These are human beings, Mr. Chapman. Treat them with respect.

I would assume this closure involves some level of superficial lip service on Tysons part as a good majority of employees are migrants and therefore pose minimal threat politically to Tyson or their extremist donors. Having been well acquainted with Noel schools, this new layer of trauma upon the community, and children in particular, aligns with potential emotional long-term consequences. It was more than enough to endure the trump presidency, and the torturous journey to just get here. May God bless them all.

I’m glad Tyson in Noel is closing. I remember when Noel was a cool little river town where we had family picnics and rented inner tubes, canoes and paddle boats. Maybe with the mexicans and somalians gone, it will return to what it was before they came and ruined it.
I’m curious if you can explain simply and briefly how Joe Biden is responsible for the closing of this plant? Did he order it through the federal dept of chickens? Is he on the board? Some new chicken tax? According to google their revenues as of Oct of 2022 were up 10 billion over what it was in Oct of 2020 and experienced 13% growth in in 2022 alone. The company is doing well. Maybe, just maybe this is a business move that has nothing to do with politics? And more likely a move to just help the company grow. At 5:45 you obviously don't understand the negative impact illegal immigration has on the United States and its economy. Mexicans will do any job for low pay while also receiving food stamps and medicaid which deprives us citizens from getting the help they need because the resources are being used up by illegals.
