Burlison introduces bill to abolish ATF

(From Seventh District Congressman Eric Burleson)

This week, I announced that I will be introducing a bill in the 119th Congress to abolish the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF).

My first month in office, I filed legislation to repeal the National Firearms Act (NFA) and co-sponsored my good friend Matt Gaetz’ bill to abolish the ATF.

While I am disappointed that Matt Gaetz will no longer be serving with me in the House, I know his future is bright. I am happy to step up and carry the legacy of this bill on to the new Congress.

Ok, there really are gun crimes, and who do they think will handle them?
Local prosecutors are extremely lenient on gun crime.
Felons in possession of weapons are an automatic prison term in Federal Court. Not so in states.
I hope his bill is squashed.

The important thing is do all the Federal Agencies Cooperate with each other and share information with each other and work for a Common Goal or do they all work Independently and Serve their own Masters?

Did the IRS create the ATF?
Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives - Wikipedia
In 1972, the ATF was officially established as an independent bureau within the Treasury Department on July 1, 1972, this transferred the responsibilities of the ATF division of the IRS to the new Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms. Would you really Trust any Agency that was Created from the IRS?

IRS-CI special agents are the only armed IRS personnel and always present their law enforcement credentials when conducting investigations. So be sure to Pay your Taxes or you could find yourself on the end of an IRS-CI Special Agent with a Gun. Feel Safe in America Now!

Small Breakdown of Federal Agencies:

DOJ (Department of Justice):
The primary legal body responsible for enforcing federal laws, including managing agencies like the FBI, ATF, and US Marshals.

FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation):
A primary investigative agency within the DOJ, handling a broad range of criminal investigations including terrorism, organized crime, and cybercrime.

ATF (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives):
Focused on enforcing laws related to alcohol, tobacco, firearms, and explosives.

CIA (Central Intelligence Agency):
Gathers intelligence on foreign countries and governments, primarily through covert operations, and does not have domestic law enforcement authority.

US Marshals Service:
Primarily responsible for security within the federal court system, apprehending federal fugitives, and managing witness protection programs.

United States Secret Service (USSS:
The USSS is also a multifaceted enforcement and protection agency. The main responsibility of the USSS is to protect elected officials and foreign heads of state, as well as provide national security for various special events, and finally to safeguard and protect the United States financial infrastructure, banking, and payment systems.

Homeland Security Investigation (DHS/HSI):
The HSI performs the investigations for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. The HSI therefore investigates what are called "transnational threats."

If they are like every other govenment agency they have overextended their inteded authority.

I couldn't agree more. They should have been disbanded after what they did in Waco and Idaho.

Long live the ATF!

The ATF should be on the top of the list of government agencies to be disbanded,
OSHA needs to be put in check as well

Do you think we have enough Federal Agencies, especially since most carry Guns and are Authorized to use them and can Act without Forethought to any of the other Federal Agencies.

Basically, like Rogue Agencies - The ATF, again was created in 1972, the ATF was officially established as an independent bureau within the Treasury Department on July 1, 1972, this transferred the responsibilities of the ATF division of the IRS to the new Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms.

Now that the ATF, is its own Independent Agency, the IRS, still wanted its own Gun-Toting Group so they have the Internal Revenue Service Criminal Investigations Division (IRS-CID) - Which carry Guns.

Think of all the Money we would Save if the Government went to a Flat Tax (Gross Income x Flat Rate = Taxes) or an Excise Tax on Sales of specific goods, services and activities. Where you could File your Taxes in 5-Minutes, not having to Employ Accountants, Accounting Firms, Lawyers, Etc., the US Federal Government Employees 93,654, and plans on hiring more people, because of the Complex Methods and Tax Laws that we have to deal with.

Everyone would pay the same Flat Rate - So simple, yet we have to continue to Prop up the IRS and Lobby Groups. If anything, Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy needs to look at this Government Agency - Why Not Start with the IRS and get rid of this Agency with a 5-Minute Flat Rate Process - Saving the Country Billions of Dollars in removing a layer of Accountants, Lawyers, and Time to just take (Gross Income x Flat Rate = Tax).

You can tell how Terrible our Tax Code is when the Government gives you from January 1st to April 15th - Just to File your Taxes. Over 25% of the Year just to Figure out your Taxes - When it can all be accomplished in 5-Minutes.

10:21AM, They were being sarcastic, and we are not idiots, it does seem that the ATF seems to have a past history of pulling their guns before opening their mouths though. We are all tired of the invasion into our Personal and Businesses from all these Government Agencies - that feel they are the ones above the Law and can Force their Interpretations on everyone - especially the ATF.

Why don't we just close the whole govt. President? Who needs one. After all I'm pretty sure that's what all the Russian propaganda is doing. Brainwashing people into destroying the country from the inside out. So just let it go. Every man for himself. Hungry ? Who cares? Need medical care ? Who cares? Retirement ? Nah you'll be fine. Employer screwing you. Who cares? Need a drink of clean drinking water ? Buy it . Water to cook? Buy it. I'm sure some corporate goon squad won't gouge ya on the price. But they can since there is no govt oversight on anything at all. Free for all. Let's go smdh !

2:04AM - Sounds like another - "Chicken Little Comment", we cannot do anything without the Government, where will I get my Monthly Checks to Support myself and my 8-Children, my Rent Money, my Food Money, my Medical Money, my Unemployment Money, my Disability Money, Etc., Etc., Etc., the problem is Big Government - our Founding Fathers didn't want their Citizens to be Taxed, Regulated, and Monopolized to Death. Which is what we have today. Some Regulations are Fine - but Big Government controls and makes all your Choices for you. We have lost our Freedoms 1 by 1 -

Again 2:04AM - How many Options / Companies do you have to get your Electricity, Natural Gas, Water, Sewer, or even your Trash Pickup - How Many - Think About it - It is Monopolized by and Set by the Government. If they want to Increase their Rates - You have NO Options, but to Pay them.

You bought a House 20-Years ago for $75,000, while making $20,000 Per Year and Now you have to Pay Taxes on that House at a Valuation of $500,000 to $650,000 Dollars, because the Government needs every Dollar to Support their Infrastructure. Not Help You - but to Continue their Survival. Yet you have Not been given a 10-Fold Increase in your Salary or Income over that same time period.

We need Less Big Government, Less Taxes, and more Common Sense - in what the Government Spends and Infringes into our Daily Lives.

Government banned lead paint and lead in gasoline.

IQ went up.

Crime went down.

Fewer children got lead poisoning.

This was a government success.

Business preferred to keep poisoning America for profits.

4:47PM - Some Government Oversight is Fine, but Today - they are Pushing Agendas by Lobbyist who Donate to their Campaigns -

What Lobbying Group Spends the Most Money - The National Association of Realtors - $63,500,153 a Year in 2024 - More than the Pharmaceutical or the America Medical Association - Why so much Money - because no one makes more money than Realtors, for doing so Little - on the Biggest Purchases of anyone's Life - -

Take for Example - NAE (National Association Education), The Teacher's Union - The Largest Union in the United States - If you did not know that Fact, with over 3,000,000 + Members. Yet our Country is behind the Rest of the World in Education -

As of now, the United States education ranking is in the 13th place, trailing behind countries like South Korea (1st), Germany (2nd), and New Zealand (3rd).

US News and World Report
Missouri Ranks #30 in Education

Report says Missouri is one of the worst states in US for early education.
