June hearing set for Emery

A 9 a.m. June 19 date has been scheduled for State Representative Ed Emery's hearing in Lawrence County Circuit Court on a charge of failure to drive on the right half of the roadway, according to court records. Emery, a Republican, represents the 126th District, including Lamar, in the General Assembly.
The hearing had originally been scheduled for April 6, but was delayed after a motion for continuance was filed by Emery's former House colleague, Sen. Jack Goodman, R-Mount Vernon, who said Emery needed to be in Jefferson City for his work in the state legislature.
The charges were filed following a 2:20 p.m. Feb 3 accident on Highway 96 two miles south of Miller. Emery and a woman in the other car suffered minor injuries, according to the Missouri Highway Patrol report.

Randy,
Any chance you could follow up with the victims in the other vehicles to see how they feel about these delays?

Do they see Emery as being at fault or are they going to testify in his behalf?

I just think it would be interesting to hear from those involved.

Thanks,
Jack
