EaglePicher in Joplin will be able to continue to meet its payroll as the parent company goes through Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings.
U. S Bankruptcy Judge J. Vincent Aug signed the order this morning following a hearing in Cincinnati, Ohio. EaglePicher filed for bankruptcy April 13 in U. S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio.
According to the order, EaglePicher is "authorized, but not directed, to maintain their workers' compensation and employers' liability insurance program.' Banks dealing with EaglePicher are directed to honor and pay all checks written before and after the bankruptcy petition was filed.
