Staffing changes, exotic species control, prescribed burning, and management of the elk and bison herd will be among the topics discussed during an informational meeting 7 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 22, at the Prairie State Park visitor center, according to a news release from the Missouri Department of Natural Resources.
Park staff will be there to provide information and to answer questions, the release said.
The meeting is being held in conjunction with the Border Disorder Program, which begins immediately afterward. During that program, the audience will experience the uncertainty of living on Missouri's western border during the Civil War, with reenactors taking the audience through "the struggle and fears the settlers felt during this time period."
The program is not recommended for younger children, the release said.
Prairie State Park is four miles south west of Liberal on State Road K to State Road P in Barton County or take Highway 160 16 miles east of Lamar to State Road NN and follow the signs.
