Former Kanakuk Kamp director Pete Newman showed up late today for a bond appearance hearing, arriving with his lawyer, Tom Carver, Springfield, after the judge had issued an arrest warrant and set Newman's bond at $100,000
After the arrival, bond was reset at $10,000 cash and $90,000 signature bond with the bond signed by Newman and his wife, according to online court records.
Newman's preliminary hearing has been scheduled for 1 p.m. Nov. 17.
He is charged with four felony sex crimes involving underage boys, according to court records.

Yes... all true, except the time. At Mo Case.net the time for the preliminary trial on the 17th of November will be 1:00 PM.
To be accurate, Newman's attorney is Tom Carver, not Clark.

You describe yourself as an "award winning journalist," yet you cannot even get facts straight in your little story. Pete Newman didn't show up after an arrest warrant was declared. In FACT, he was 30 minutes early to the courthouse, his attorney was late, causing the judge to become angry and then arrest Pete AFTER he had appeared in court. The thing about these blogs is you can post anything you want, and people actually take it as fact. You make my blood boil.
Spin it any way you want, Nick. Pete Newman was not in the courtroom when the hearing started, and Judge Williams issued a warrant for his arrest Newman did not arrive in the courtroom itself for approximately 15 minutes. My facts are on the money; your blood is just boiling because I didn't spin them the way you wanted.
Humm... a journalist's job isn't to spin the facts but present them, Nick's additions do paint a different picture of events, why leave them out? Guess you are a blogger now, not a journalist.
I did not leave out anything. When I wrote the original post, the warrant had been issued for Pete Newman's arrest. I do not devote all of my time to blogging, so I was unaware of the change in circumstances. When I checked in later and found Newman had shown up late, I immediately posted that information. My posts were accurate and the only actual spin has been in the pro-Pete Newman comments.
I'm unsure why Nick would be so quick to try to "spin" this to Pete's advantage. I don't know of anyone, including friends of pete, people directly connected to kanakuk, etc., who legitimately DOESN'T want Pete thrown in jail for a long, long, long time.
