The Barton County prosecuting attorney's office has filed charges of first degree murder, forcible rape, statutory rape, and kidnapping against Bobby Don Bourne, 34, Lamar, in connection with the death of 12-year-old Adriaunna Horton of Golden City.
Bourne was arrested Monday night after witnesses said they saw Miss Horton get into his pickup. At that time, Miss Horton had not been found so kidnapping charges were filed and bond was set at $1 million.
Her body was discovered by searchers in a field in Dade County, just east of Golden City.
Bourne is being held in the Jasper County Jail with no bond because of fears he could not be protected in the Barton County Jail in Lamar.
