A Noel man who said in chat messages that he wanted to rape his 8-year-old neighbor and who told investigating officers he fantasized about sexually abusing local children was sentenced to 10 years in prison today during a hearing in U. S. District Court in Springfield.
Quinton Tyler McNeely, 28, will attend a sex offender program while in prison and when his sentence is completed, he will be on supervised probation for 10 years.
When he pleaded guilty in March, McNeely admitted to receiving and distributing child pornography. A detention order noted McNeely's chat messages and that in addition to wanting to rape his neighbor he discussed "using candy to befriend and rape another child."
