Arrest warrant issued for Joplin man who fled to Vegas during child molestation investigation

Jasper County Circuit Court Judge Joseph Hensley signed off on an arrest warrant Wednesday for a Joplin man charged with child molestation, six counts of statutory sodomy, enticement of a child and furnishing pornographic material to a minor.

The probable cause warrant for Mitchell Allen Zebrowski, 35, indicates the Jasper County Sheriff's Office asked for the warrant after issuing a BOLO (be on the lookout) for him and learning that his vehicle was spotted in Las Vegas.

According to the probable cause statement, Zebrowski's molestation of the child occurred frequently over a period of years, beginning when the child was 9. The charges listed indicate crimes that took place between 2019 and 2023, with the statement noting that it occurred as recently as two weeks ago.

At one time, according to the probable cause statement, Zebrowski told the child she would have to keep quiet or he would have to hurt or kill her. Later, Zebrowski allegedly bribed the child and at times forced her to watch pornography him while he performed a solo sex act.

The probable cause statement says Zebrowski was arrested in Carterville for forcible sodomy in 2006. As part of a plea bargain agreement, Zebrowski pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of sexual misconduct in the first degree. Judge David Mouton gave Zebrowski a suspended sentence and placed him on unsupervised probation for two years.

Jasper County Circuit Court records indicate Judge Stephen Carlton issued a child protection order against Zebrowski shortly after the sodomy charge was filed.

During the time Zebrowski was on unsupervised probation, the Jasper County Sheriff's Office arrested him on a felony stealing charge. A plea bargain agreement was reached with the Jasper County Prosecuting Attorney's office and Zebrowski pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge

Judge Richard Copeland sentenced him to one year in the Jasper County Jail, then suspended the sentenced and required him to do 40 hours of community service.

He was placed on unsupervised probation for one year.

Hopefully the Jasper County Prosecuting Attorneys office and the Jasper County judges are about to realize that with this accused it's about time to cease and desist with the plea bargains and letting this guy off easy,

So far it seems it just allows him to offend again.

The Judges and Prosecuting Attorneys in Jasper and Newton County - need to STOP - Making Deals and Plea Bargains - and DUE THERE JOB - Serve the People - Who Elected them.

We need to have STRONG Men of Convictions and Back Bones - Setting in our Public Offices - and We need to HOLD them Accountable - If they Continue and Fail to Server the Public - We have to Re-Call and/or Vote them out of Office - -

Judge David Mouton and Judge Richard Copeland - Should be Help Responsible for there Decisions to allow this Pedophile back on the Streets - to Continue his Sick and Perverted Actions - -

We Have to Start Being Tough on Crime.

STOP FEELING SORRY FOR THE CRIMINALS AND START FEELING SORRY FOR THE VICTIMS.

Beyond disgusting! Yet people were getting sentenced for 45 years for simple cannabis possession back in the mid/late 2000s. What a "Justice" system we have here in SWMO.

I can’t tell you how bad I feel for his daughter, he deserves hell. His daughter is an angel sent from heaven and has guided me out of some bad problems in my life and I am so grateful for her, I hope this man thinks about his actions and never treats a child or anyone or anything like that again.

This is complete horse crap if anything this man deserves over 20 years in jail this is pedophilia and if this man wasn’t done in jail he probably would’ve molested his own child this is stupid this is ridiculous he needs longer he needs more help they should help the child a bit more I can’t imagine what she’s going through right now this is complete horse crap and if this man was in front of me right now I would give him the biggest mother son talk right now and he would get the freaking. Stop feeling bad for the criminals start feeling bad for the victims that is how it’s supposed to be you should not feel bad for the freaking criminals because there the reason their life is hell OK they made their own problems they can fix there own problems don’t fix them for them help the victim it wasn’t their fault she did not deserve crap she did not deserve any of this this is not OK these court people need help they need to give him more time in jail to think about his actions because what if when he gets out he’s still the same guy and he’s gonna go after her this is sick this is disgusting get help now.

He doesn't want to come back and show his face. He is fighting extradition and he knows he is guilty. I can't believe they give you a choice to sign a piece of paper. He never needs released from jail. If he did this to his own daughter and the young girl in 2006 he will do it again to some poor girl.
