I wish a local media outlet would report the why, less than a month into a new school year, two administrators were terminated resulting in these two being shifted into new positions.
The district has buried the information about it because the superintendent was fully aware of the situation, called both parties out about it over a year ago and failed to put an end to it thus making him as guilty as the two parties who were terminated. Additionally, the school board has allowed the superintendent full reign of the district and does not question the decisions being made by the superintendent. Instead of holding him responsible, they rubber stamp approve every decision he makes. He has too many friends on the school board and not enough people to hold him accountable.
Those of us inside the district know what’s going on, why else would a district who continues to be recognized for academic excellence have over 40 teachers leave after last year. The district won’t report on anything that could be perceived as negative and no media outlet will report.

The kids are who are suffering from this. All the adults in that building and not one spoke up. Instead they find other jobs while the love birds continue to destroy the environment for all. So disappointed in CJ Schools. Keep it up and you will be just like Joplin Schools. Very sad for all.
I would have thought CJ Schools were so much better than this but proved wrong by all that they allowed for years.

CJ schools don’t allow another CJ Huff type person destroy your school district.

Carl Junction schools has become a playground for affairs. Including the current high school principal having an affair on his first wife all while they were both teaching at the school. How is he rewarded?? Given a higher position. Teachers and administrators should be the role models for our students. I’m sad to hear about what happened at the 2/3 building and am sorry for the spouses and children those two caused hurt and harm towards. If it’s true the superintendent knew about the affair before the wife found out them that is disgusting and he should be forced to resign.

FINALLY! I thought no one in this area would ever call out Cook for his shenanigans. The internal politics at CJ have gone on long enough and it’s good to see people call them out for it.
When the baseball coach stepped down last year did Cook post the job open? No. He TOLD the school board he was going to be superintendent and baseball coach and not one school board member questioned it. His friends on the school board let it happen.
Last football season when Cook wanted the football coach fired so he could hire his friend back as head coach his friend the athletic director didn’t fire the coach he had the school principal pressure him to retire.
When the boys basketball coach lost control of his program last season with players getting multiple technical fouls and charging after opposing teams student sections did they fire the coach or suspend the player? No. He’s back coaching this year.
When Cook spent thousands of dollars on a field cover for the baseball field and never used it why didn’t the school board question that decision? Because the school board members are all beer drinking buddies of his at Briarbrook, the Pour House and Elks Club. It’s a good ol boy network if anyone ever saw one.

The school board is made up of Briarbrook elites who dare not question Cook. Cowger is mentally incompetent his son follows in his footsteps Hayes is a Cowger lapdog Spencer and Herron have deep pockets but lack backbones and the rest are there for nothing else but say they live in Briarbrook and volunteer their time on the school board.

CJ Football Let’s Smoke a Tree in ‘23

CJ Football We’re going 1-8 so let’s get baked

Our corners get burnt because they are toasted
Scoreboard looks bad because CJ is getting roasted
Our quarterback is high and his receivers are too
Can’t throw, can’t catch, the season should be through
Too busy puff puff passing the pipe instead of the passing the ball
The COC can’t be beat, so light another bowl so we can enjoy this streak
Spark the bong boys, it won’t be long, we can high like Cheech and Chong
We’re Bulldogs or so they say, trying hard to be the next Snoop Dogg is what we say

Parents you need to pack that school board meeting and take back your great school. I think it needs to be investigated by an outside source to put an end to this. Everybody deserves better! Cut your losses and fire them all asap.

I always thought student athletes were drug tested

Entitlement is so bad in this town that if the district tried to drug test anyone the lawsuits would inundate the school

Bong hits > Big hits
Rolling your own > Rolling your opponent
Pass the joint > Pass the ball
Acapulco Gold > State Championship Gold
Rick James/Snoop Dogg Pregame Music > CJ Band Pregame Music
Smoking a bowl > Playing in a bowl game
Late night munchies > Postgame meal
Flying high > Winning football games
This is the CJ Way

What I love is that instead of letting the teachers focus their time and effort on the students, they are consistently bombarded with more and more bullshit everyday. Besides having to explain the actions of their administrators, they are expected to complete weekly assignments that are “graded” by administrators who use this to justify their own jobs. These administrators use these teachers as their data collection guinea pigs so the can advance their own education to increase their pay. Carl Junction is the only district in the COC that first sets the administration’s salaries, then worries about the teachers pay. It is no wonder that the district continues to loose valuable teachers to other districts. The higher ups in this district worry more about keeping their drinking buddies employed rather than focusing on trying to keep quality teachers in the district. This district used to have programs that focused on all students not just the “college bound”. Now there are programs that the students get to be hand picked to make it easy on those teachers who suck up to the admin. While we loose programs like Larry Cassatt’s building trades, who reached many students that don’t make headlines in the papers. But of course the admin just used those boys to do their personal projects at their homes. I’m sure the sod that was laid at the home of the principal was approved by “Dr” Cook. Just another example of the abuse of power within the district.

All of these comments are spot-on. As a parent to former CJ students, extramarital affairs of staff/administrators and under the table antics were just part of life within the CJ School District. It seems that nothing has changed, perhaps even become worse. Like most things, eventually, all of this will be swept under the rug and forgotten about. Seems to be the way of the world. News today, a memory tomorrow.
