(From the U. S. Attorney for the Western District of Missouri) A Carl Junction man was sentenced in federal court today for receiving and distributing child pornography over the internet.
Mark Comer, 44, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Stephen R. Bough to 18 years in federal prison without parole. Comer will be required to register as a sex offender upon his release from prison and will be subject to federal and state sex offender registration requirements, which may apply throughout his life.
On March 23, 2023, Comer pleaded guilty to receiving and distributing child pornography.
Law enforcement officers searched Comer’s laptop in July 2022 as part of an investigation into allegations of child sexual abuse. Investigators found thousands of photos and videos of child pornography and child exploitative material.
This case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney James J. Kelleher. It was investigated by the Southwest Missouri Cybercrimes Task Force, the FBI, and the Carl Junction, Mo., Police Department.

What is Wrong with all these Sick and Perverted Pedophiles - This is becoming daily news - and a Major Problem across our Country.
We have to Protect and Teach our Children - so they do Not become Victims of these Vile and Predatory Pedophiles - because they can come from all walks of Life and Genders - Whether they are Parents, Relatives, Friends, Strangers, Teachers, Coaches, Ministers / Clergy, Medical, Legal, Police, Day Care, Babysitters, Etc., - Protect and Teach your Children - Not to be a Victim!
These Sick and Perverted Acts on Children - have Long Lasting Circumstances for these Innocent Children. Again, these Acts are not only perpetrated on Young but Older Children too - by Adults and/or Other Children - Some who have been Victims themselves.
These Predictors - should never see the Light of Day - Yet our PC (Politically Correct Society) - Says we have to Feel Sorry for these Criminals and give them Multiple Opportunities to Rehabilitate Themselves - (So they can Re-Offend after they are Released from Jail or Given Swats on the Wrist and Probation).
We have to be Tough on Pedophiles - We have to Protect our most Innocent Victims in our Society - Our Children - We need to Elect Politicians, Judges, and Prosecuting Attorneys that are Tough on Crime and on Criminals and Represent the Rights of Victims - Not Make Deals or Play Favors.
And if your Children tells you that they have been Victimized - Listen to them and Seek and Give them a Voice - Call the Police, get them Psychological Help, and Show them Love, Understanding, and Compassion - and Put the Perpetrator in JAIL...
Stop Feeling Sorry for the Criminals and Start Feeling Sorry for the Victims.
