McClintock, Joplin Globe receive 15 awards in annual Missouri Press Association Better Newspaper Contest

Former Joplin Globe editor/reporter Kevin McClintock won two first place and one second place award in the annual Missouri Press Association Better Newspaper Contest.

The winners were announced today during the annual MPA Convention in St. Louis.

McClintock, received first places for "best news and feature series" and for "Magazine/Alternative Publication" for his work on the Globe's Joplin Magazine.

The Globe's other first place award was received by Editor Andy Ostmeyer for "best editorial." Ostmeyer also received a second place for "Best Story About the Outdoors" and third place for "Best Columnist-Serious."







The Globe's awards, which were earned in competition against other dailies of similar size, are listed below.
