Former Carthage resident sentenced to 20 years on meth, weapons charges


During a hearing today in U. S. District Court in Springfield, Carlos Joseph Blake Gandy, 38, Galena, Kansas, a former Carthage resident, was sentenced to 20 years in prison on meth trafficking and weapons charges.

Gandy was sentenced to 15 years on the meth charge and five years on the weapons charge with the sentences to run consecutively.

After he completes his sentence, Gandy will be on supervised probation for three years.









The Joplin Police Department arrested Gandy August 30, 2021. He came to their attention when his license was flagged for being revoked.

A JPD officer followed him to Gringo's where he parked his motorcycle and went into the restaurant carrying a black bag, according to the plea agreement.
