Webb City woman arrested with purse full of drugs bound over for trial


A Webb City woman will be arraigned November 6 in Jasper County Circuit Court Division III after waiving her preliminary today and being bound over for trial today.

The Webb City Police Department arrested Rebecca Ann Cox (DOB 1981) September 4 for allegedly shoplifting at Walmart and on a Newton County warrant.







While conducting a search of her purse, officers discovered some items that are not available at Wal-Mart, according to the probable cause statement:

While searching her purse at her consent I located the following; 

• 1 baggie of Mushroom substance (schedule 1 controlled substance) that weighted approximately 12.5 grams 

• 1 baggie of a green leafy substance that tested positive for marijuana and weighed approximately 44 grams 








• 2 small baggies with a crystal-like substance that tested positive for methamphetamine and fentanyl and weighed approximately 9.52 grams 

• 1 pink straw that tested positive for methamphetamine • 41 individual baggies (2 purple, 5 clear, 14 clear with pot leaves, 4 yellow, 12 clear with skunk heads, 3 bigger clear baggies, and l bigger clear baggie that contains all the baggies
