Warrant issued for arrest of former Wildwood Senior Living employee on assault charge

Judge Joseph Hensley issued an arrest warrant Tuesday for a former Wildwood Senior Living employee who is charged with assaulting a 77-year-old man October 1, 2022.

Hensley set bond for Takeshia Moore, 45, Joplin, at $50,000- $25,000 cash and $25,000 surety. As a condition of her bond, she is not allowed to be around people over 70 or people under 18.

According to the probable cause report, Moore, a Level 1 medication aide shoved the man causing him to fall and suffer hip and femur fractures and sending him to the emergency room.

The injuries started a downward spiral for the man who died January 21.

Not all nurses, cma, and cna's are like this. Some of us have really big hearts and do care a great deal about their residents. So to make comments that we aren't the brightest bulbs is very rude. And to say that we could not work in the hospitals is very untrue. Many of our nurses came from the hospital. It's not all nurses, cma's and cna's fault that one decided to harm someone else. I happen to work at Wildwood on memory care and I can say that this person took her own actions. That had nothing to do with any other staff members. I know our residents are very well taken care of. What is wrong is the system. This happened a year ago and this cma has worked in several other nursing homes. So how many other residents did this happen to? Should not have taken that long to file charges. I know of 2 places for sure she's worked at. Maybe the state should be looking into them places. Wildwood is rated one of the top in nursing. It's by far better than any other in joplin. And this can even happen in hospitals. Do you know how many residents hat get sent back from hospitals with bed sore when they didn't leave Wildwood with them? Or came back in soaked and soiled briefs bc the hospital didn't care enough to clean them up? That's not abuse?

And nothing was covered up, the director offered all evidence to the joplin police department. They had no idea that Wildwood had video.

First of all I believe you mean "their" staff and not "there" staff. After the tornado I was given the opportunity to work with a lot of the staff they have and they are wonderful nurses and administration. Just because one person decided to do this does NOT by any means make every single employee in the facility or any other facility bad. I have worked in nursing for over 25 years and I have had a grandfather pass away in a facility and my grandmother is currently in one. Instead of belittling the staff and pointing out all of their flaws why don't you try thanking them for being there for the residents when no one else could be. I have sat with residents and held their hands simply to keep them company, when they were scared, upset and even when some were completely alone and about to leave this world. I'm gonna almost bet you can't say the same and I will double my bet that you wouldn't last 1 shift in our shoes. You are 💯 entitled to your own opinion but don't you dare bring all of the long term care workers or facilities into this. Also, in case you're unaware hospitals have 3-4 patients to care for a shift and only have those same patient's for around 3 days usually. The staff at nursing homes have double or triple that and become like family to these residents. So when you're ready to get off your high horse and help one of these men or women out you can voice your opinion and let me know just how good or bad they are. Wildwood employees, keep up the good work because it honestly doesn't go unnoticed.
