Congratulations to the 2023 Joplin Schools Alumni Hall of Fame inductees!
At last night's ceremony and banquet, hosted by the Joplin Schools Foundation, three alumni were inducted into the Hall of Fame alongside one Meritorious Award winner.
These Joplin graduates and community leaders are shining examples of what our Eagles are capable of, and we are so proud to have welcomed them home for this honor.
Alumni Hall of Fame inductees are:
-Sallie Beard: 1968 Joplin Graduate, Coach, Athletic Director, and Community Leader
-General Howie Chandler: 1970 Parkwood graduate, Fighter Pilot, 4-Star General for the United States Air Force
-Joseph Newman: 1954 Joplin graduate, Business Owner, Economic Developer
This year's Meritorious Award winner is School Resource Officer and Joplin Police officer Rickey Hirshey. While not a Joplin graduate, Officer Hirshey has demonstrated exceptional community leadership and courage, and has worked hard throughout his career to support Joplin Students.
