Judge David A. Cole approved an amended motion by fired Carthage City Administrator Greg Dagnan Monday and that's bad news for Carthage Citizens United.
The citizens group, which pushed for the removal of Dagnan and former City Attorney Nate Dally and is backing the pending impeachment of Mayor Dan Rife, was initially dismissed as a defendant, but was restored after the judge reviewed the amended petition.
And while the amended petition still lists the City of Carthage as a defendant, only two members of the City Council, Tiffany Cossey and Alan Snow remain as defendants.
Dismissed as defendants were City Council members Jana Schramm, Derek Peterson, Chris Taylor, Lori Leece, Dustin Edge, Terri Heckmaster and Thomas Barlow.
The defendants have 20 days to file a response to the amended petition.

It will be interesting to see how quick accusations are made against Randy for being biased by reporting simple facts. The CCU people and their council members are crazy. Every single meeting Cossey has the minutes changed to reflect better on upon herself. The minions all vote to approve of course.
This all boils down to protecting Mark Peterson, which they haven't done, and CWEP leaders. One of the reasons they don't want to audit the CWEP is the fact Chuck was having, and probably is still, an affair with a female employee, and CWEP funds were spent on this affair. Several employees complained and they were punished. I am sure we will see some lawsuits over that.
CWEP wants no one looking at them for other reasons too, like their leaders being significantly overpaid, which can be confirmed because the pay is public record.
I am pretty sure part of this may also involve the extra 1.9M Precious Moments and Heckmaster (a council member) wanted the city to pay for a land deal. I would love to know the kick back Peterson was supposed to get from that deal and who else would have benefitted. This reeks of RICO potential.
The CCU leaders are mostly composed of retired L&P senior managers who helped run the company into ground and local "leaders" whose wealth and local influence was/is generational and not earned. What a terrible and avoidable mess. I wonder if the council has reached $100K yet to impeach the mayor?
I think the CCU Facebook page looks completely different lately.
Not nearly as much leaving all the junk hanging out and making lots of accusatory claims like a few months ago.
It's almost like it's been converted to a golfing page.
People might be wondering about the change.
Did they start worrying about getting grabbed by the short hairs?
Fun fact: Chuck is still having his affair(s), and gave one of his CWEP eye candy an unmarked city-owned vehicle that she drives to and from Kansas every day. He’s breaking all of the rules that other city department heads would get terminated for. All the while, telling the (now) “city council 6” what to do at every council meeting and has for over a year. So, why is that??? What is he holding over everyone that they cannot push back and do the right thing?!? Those who know KNOW why he and the other CWEP employees ignored the deposition subpoenas for the mayor’s impeachment case. EVERYTHING IS CONNECTED.
YOU Keep saying FACT.Please provide the FACTS that you are referring to. Otherwise you have nothing other than your opinion.
They're worried about losing Cossey to recall. If that happens the CCU agenda is toast and they know that. Probably should have pursued an agenda with 2 fewer crazy people from the same ward and a Daddy's boy seeking revenge for Daddy's crimes.
Still waiting on your facts.
Ohhhh…yeah, those facts are going to be revealed publicly during the mayor’s impeachment trial. His attorney was given full subpoena power today in court. Let’s just hope the Water and Electric folks don’t lie under oath. Unless CB tells the council to drop the impeachment all together.
The current affair is public knowledge. And the one who drives an unapproved city-owned car was offered it as a bribe to stay on and work after she had a baby. These aren’t opinions; they came from CB’s employees.
Daddy’s boy will be an easy recall.
What does he have on everyone? I’d like some proof one way or another. Can that many people be paid off? Surely someone will step up and do the right thing.
Fun fact: Carthage is ripe with corruption. Not just at CWEP. Apparently two city department heads have been having an affair and now everyone knows and one of them will be forced to leave very soon. Keep an eye out for this major development! Seems like Dagnan probably knew about it all along and was protecting them. The entire city of Carthage needs to hit the reset button!!
I’ve watched almost all the council meetings from about 30 minutes away from the train wreck that is Carthage. I assume the “daddy’s boy” is a reference to Peterson. I can safely say that most communities in this area would be fortunate to have him. If you don’t see it and want him gone, you should watch how he handles himself and how he conducts business. The old guy Taylor next to him has no constructive positive input and the Leece lady on the other side doesn’t seem to understand anything. While I agree that some of those council members should be held accountable for how they conduct themselves. Peterson seems like a young, involved, conservative minded, family man that is desperately needed in most the communities of SW Missouri. If you want him gone…you may be a very bias person and should take time to look in the mirror. Monett is going through some issues that need a level headed young person like that could help solve. We already have the “I’m not sure” and the “nooooo” people. Carthage citizens may be looking a gift horse in the mouth.
City department heads are some of the worst in the region and EVERY other city who works with them knows it. By far the best was Huntley and his 1st mate wore him out. The school district is lucky. Every builder in the area HATES dealing with public works and makes fun of the idiots that work there. I have a feeling the parks lady has come to the end of her rope. Clearly took advantage of the hard work the prior guy didn’t before Dagnan had him arrested. I say fire them all and start over. Only way to get it cleaned up!
