The charges were filed after Howard allegedly used the Chamber credit card for a number of personal expenses.
In the response, Gary Mishler, acting board president said, "As soon as this matter came to light, we took immediate action, including his separation from the organization.
"Since then, the Board has conducted a thorough review of our financial practices and internal controls, and we have implemented changes to strengthen oversight and prevent this from happening again."
Howard's arraignment is scheduled for 9 a.m. October 7 in Jasper County Circuit Court in Joplin.

Whether it's kamakazi General Lee golf cart races through Briarbrook or the many locals oin the sex offender registry CJ law enforcement is always fully employed.
Many people who aren't as excellent as half of CJ are just complaining because they are jealous haters!
Wonderful statement. Either I’m blind, illiterate or can’t read anymore but where’s the accountability and responsibility of the chamber board? Still feels like a lack of oversight from more than one person. And how did the same board choose this person to lead the organization and represent Carl Junction?
