A grand jury indictment of Brian R. Jordan, 39, Neosho, on a possession of methamphetamine charge was unsealed Monday in U. S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri.
The indictment came as a result of a Seneca Police Department traffic stop July 25 after Jordan was seen leaving what was described in the detention motion as "a residence that officers knew to be associated with drug activity."
From the detention motion:
During the stop, law enforcement searched the vehicle after a K-9 positively alerted to the odor of narcotics. During the search, officers located a black bag that contained a plastic bag with three smaller plastic bags inside each containing a crystalline substance that weighed approximately 108 grams and field tested positive for methamphetamine.Also within the vehicle, officers located a Smith and Wesson handgun magazine loaded with nine-millimeter ammunition, numerous cell phones, unused syringes, a large quantity of loose cash, a bundle of unused plastic baggies, and a bottle of suspected fake urine.
In total, law enforcement seized approximately $1,732 from the defendant and the vehicle. Additionally, a digital scale was located in the bed of the truck and in the backseat area, law enforcement located a white chemical bottle with liquid inside that field tested positive for methamphetamine.
