Springfield man killed in car-motorcycle collision

Alexander Brooks, 29, died on Oct. 26 after being involved in a two-vehicle crash on Oct. 23.

This was Springfield’s 16th fatal motor vehicle crash in 2026, which resulted in 17 deaths. 

On Oct. 23, 2026, at 8:58 p.m., officers with the Springfield Police Department responded to a two-vehicle crash at Chestnut Expressway and West Bypass. 

Jacque Harvey, 58, of Joplin, was driving a 2016 Jeep Cherokee and pulling out of the parking lot at 3434 W. Chestnut Expressway to go westbound. Alexander Brooks, 29, of Springfield, was riding a 2012 Honda CBR 1000 motorcycle eastbound when it collided with the Jeep Cherokee. Brooks was wearing a helmet.

Brooks was transported to the hospital where he later died of his injuries on Oct. 26, 2026. His family is aware of his death.
