Nodler officially joins Seventh District race

Sen. Gary Nodler, R-Joplin, issued the following statement after filing today to run for the Seventh District Congressional seat currently held by Roy Blunt:

“Southwest Missourians want a better future for their kids and grandkids. They want us to stop piling unmanageable debt on them. They want us to create jobs and make it easier to access credit.

Barack Obama and his leftist collaborators Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid are dangerous to the continued fiscal health of our country and southwest Missourians will reject them at the ballot box in 2010. Obama’s insistence in pushing government health care through Congress via reconciliation constitutes a blatant and brazen socialist power grab.

These are serious times. Southwest Missouri needs a serious Congressman who can stand up to the unprecedented leftist agenda of these liberal radicals. I can be that serious Congressman and that's why I've filed to represent Missouri's 7th Congressional district."

I like Gary, I just wish he hadn't given us two doses of Dwight Douglas on the MSSU Board of Governors!

Amen to Durward Hall. IN the end, Nodler is responsible for much if not all (as co-conspirator) of all that has afflicted Southern in the last two years.
He wanted so badly to be MSSU president but in the end his buddy Dwight could not pull it off for him, even though Gary got legislation passed that would permit Missouri colleges and universities to hire former Mo. legislators with just a bachelors degree.

He may have a bachelor's degree, but he is still pretty stupid, in my book. When I was at Southern, he used campus email to promote his campaign, with his brother's help. His brother works in the library. What a dunce. God, please don't let Gary Nodler become our congressman! Anybody but him!

Why don't you just march right up to the Capitol and file your own self. Then we can compare your credentials and ability to function in society with the other candidates.

The library at MSSU is a major resource of knowledge for the students and faculty. Serious students recognize the people working in the library are there to support their academic studies, and, utilize and appreciate them.

Sounds like someone needs to get 10:20 a library card, a little help, and hopefully a little knowledge will show up in future his/her posts on this blog.

Southwest Missouri Needs Honest Political Representation said...

Sounds to me like someone needs to realize that using government facilities for promoting a candidate for political office is a misuse of public funds and is illegal. But, no, apparently you would rather attack the messenger. The truth, is, Gary Nodler lacks good judgment; instance after instance points this out, from his movie theater tirade regarding the disabled to his meddling with Missouri statutes for personal gain. If he gets elected to Congress, it will be a travesty.
But when one political party dominates an area's campaigns, and does so through threats and intimidation, it is likely that despots will win.
As it would be impossible for someone NOT a Republican to get elected in this district, let us at least hope that a decent, intelligent, educated person who cares more about southwest Missouri than his or her own misplaced ambition, will run and win. Oh, and did I forget? Someone with integrity. That would NOT be Gary Nodler.
As for his brother, I like the man, but not his tactics to get Gary elected. I wasn't saying that Charles is a dunce -- that comment was for Gary.
I actually think Charles would be the better candidate. Why doesn't he run for office?

The name header for the previous message was supposed to read, "Southwest Missouri Needs Honest Political Representation" but there wasn't enough space to make that clear.

Anyone but Gary Nodler said...

Gary Nodler's comments during his announcement show he is somewhat unbalanced. Only in the 7th District of Mo. could someone call Obama's policies a "radical leftist agenda." Obama may have run as a left-wing candidate for change, but in reality he is rather moderate in his political agenda. People who live in glass houses, Gary, should not throw stones. Stop watching so much Faux News, get your brother to loan you a book or two, and learn some history. If it weren't so serious an issue that you are actually running for Congress, it would be hilarious. I certainly hope that you are defeated. It would do my old heart good.

Ok lets fact check: To anonymous 6:35, Nodler never "made the special needs children leave the theatre". The controversy was that Nodler left the noisy theater and the caregiver for the group that was making the noise complained that Nodler had an obligation to stay in the noise because the noise makers were disabled, and as a State Senator he should stay. They were adults not children. The group was not made to leave by Nodler or anyone else. To "Southwest Missouri needs Honest Politician", again it was the caregiver that had the tirade at the theater, not Nodler. To "Anonymous said...". Gary never "got legislation passed that would permit Missouri colleges and universities to hire former Mo. legislators with just a bachelor’s degree." That little gem was an amendment authored by Democrat Senator Tim Green of St. Louis, not Senator Nodler. You have suggested that Nodler meddled with Missouri statutes for personal gain. When? Where? What? Every one of the reasons to oppose Nodler listed here are false. There may be reasons to oppose him, but they have not been presented here. Oh what a tangled web you weave, when first you practice to deceive!

8:40 pm.. Ah, you are back from Jeff City, Gary. Yeah, you never made the disabled leave the theater. You left with your little brother, complaining to high heaven that management should not permit such individuals in the theater. WE don't forget. Green may have authored the bill to allow colleges to hire you with only a bachelors degree, but we know Jeff City. What did you have to do for Green in return?

Ah 9:36, Thank you for crediting me with being a Senator! Once again you make comments without regard or respect for the truth. So go ahead and get stirred up about things that don't exist. You know they have meds for your delusions.

you can say all you want Gary. Facts are: your absurd and arrogant Joplin theater tirade against the disabled is a fact we all remember and don't forget and the legislative shenanigans to get you to the presidency of Southern (with the help of your pal senator Green) is a shameful fact and a black eye on the (what's left of) traditions of the Missouri Senate.

Anny 10:20 I have seen this poster on here before re: Nodler. Always crybabying when anyone questions him and implying if you don't run for office you shouldn't critique those who do, otherwise you may not be able to function in "society with the other candidates" whatever that means (is everyone in society a candidate?) Either way this Nodler-Nincompoop missed 1) the point of candidates campaigning is that they put themselves up for scrutiny by the public and if they can't handle that then they shouldn't run for office and 2) that those of us who earn a living by doing something other than grandstanding, networking, and BSing in Jeff City have not only the right but the duty to point out the foibles of such candidates as Nodler.
