NBC News' Chicago office told The Turner Report moments ago that Brian Williams is on his way to Joplin and will anchor the NBC Nightly News from the site of Sunday's deadly tornado that killed at least 89 people and wounded hundreds.
One reporter will be doing a story on the destruction of Joplin High School and yesterday's graduation ceremonies at Missouri Southern State University. At least one of JHS' new graduates will be interviewed.
It is a sad return for Williams, who got his start in television news three decades ago at KOAM.
