A Neosho woman has been charged with two counts of second-degree domestic assault after allegedly attacking her husband with a garden rake April 6.
According to the probable cause statement, which was filed Thursday in Newton County Circuit Court, Aubrey Elizabeth Anderson (DOB 1989) began throwing things after she couldn't find a pair of shoes.
From the probable cause statement:
I observed that Victim 1 had scratch marks on both cheeks and that he had a bruise on his right cheek. I also saw Victim 1 had red marks on the top of his head. The inside of the residence was in disarray.I saw that there was broken glass on the floor in multiple places. I observed that several desks and tables had been turned over. I saw that multiple items were scattered across the floor. The items appeared to have been thrown. I saw gouge marks on one of the interior walls as well as on the exterior door. I also observed a small shoe print on the exterior door where someone had kicked it.
Victim 1 stated that his wife Aubrey Anderson became angry that she could not find a pair of shoes and began throwing things. {He} stated that Aubrey became more upset during the argument and went outside.
Victim 1 stated he shut the door when Aubrey picked up a large metal garden rake. Victim 1 said that Aubrey broke into the residence and struck him with the rake several times. {He} said that Aubrey took his phone from him while striking him with the rake, preventing him from calling 911.
The case was investigated by the Newton County Sheriff's Office.
