Gary Nodler's fit of pique when he wasn't able to thoroughly enjoy a screening of "Fantastic Four" comes at an opportune time for area Democrats. Nodler's four-year term ends next year and no doubt the Democrats will look for someone to make him into a one-term senator.
The blowup is just one of many things that is making Nodler look vulnerable. His blind support of Governor Matt Blunt's pro-business agenda, and worse yet, trying to make it appear that every vote was cast as a representation of his southwest Missouri constituents, is even hurting him in the eyes of area Republicans.
I would guess Nodler will be a topic of discussion when the Jasper County Democratic Committee meets 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at Woody's Steakhouse.

Randy...do you forget where you live? A Republican losing his seat to a Democrat in Southwest Missouri? You have a better chance of getting struck by lightning TWICE while waiting in line to collect your Powerball Jackpot. The blind voters of SW Missouri will see the (R) on the ballot and punch the chad through. Cute thought though.
You may be right, but it was not that long ago that Democrats were elected to county posts, even in places like Newton County and Jasper County. And all right, this one goes back three decades, but I can remember Republicans getting overconfident and letting an 19-year-old named Wayne Johnson be elected county judge (county commissioner now) in Newton County. I was his campaign manager and I was 18 at the time. It's a long shot, but strange things happen in politics.
So, what ever happeded to Wayne Johnson?.
He lives in Broken Arrow, Okla. I am not sure what he is doing now, but at one time he was selling cars.
Just call me a working stiff! My family was at this movie. We couldn't watch it because of all the noise and had to get a refund. Senator Nodler was speaking up for me and my family. If the Democrats continue to make politics all about the gays and minorities and disabled against everone else, they will never win another election. You'd better start listining to tax payers like me!
