Joplin is not the only town mulling over an arena and a minor league hockey franchise. Clarksville, Tenn., is also examining a Global Entertainment proposal and has also been examining the success of such a facility in Youngstown, Ohio, according to an
article in the Clarksville Leaf Chronicle.

Turner "breaks" story on Tennessee town mulling Global proposal
Today's Turner Report features an article on Clarksville, Tenn. mulling over an arena and a minor league hockey franchise.
I would congratulate Turner on his research concerning the company that wants to build an arena in Clarksville and Joplin, but it appears that The Globe was the one who provided the reasearch, since the same story APPEARED OVER SIX MONTHS AGO in The Joplin Globe.
If The Globe's archive system work, I could show you where the paper published a story on how Global was promoting its projects in Clarksville and Joplin long before city officials signed on the dotted line.
It doesn't appear that the Turner Report examined the information Global presented to the Joplin City Council or Chamber of Commerce, either. And, HYPOCRITICALLY, the Turner story does not go into detail on Global's projects, which have been covered by The Globe.
The only original reporting I can find in The Turner Report is... wait, I can't find any original reporting in The Turner Report. Only what you have hand delivered to your e-mail box by Google News Alerts.
This is just the most recent in a series of stories in the Turner Report based on stories initally broken in other media. At least this time Turner mentioned his source.
One last note, as far as I have been able to determine, KODE broke the arena story and The Globe has owned it since.
Hey anon, do you mean this story?
