IRS investigating Joplin Flea Market

A filing earlier this week in U. S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri indicates the Internal Revenue Service is investigating Laverne Miller of Joplin Flea Market.
Court documents say Miller failed to appear at an Aug. 31, 2005, meeting in Springfield after being issued a summons. Miller had been asked to produce papers, records and financial data.
"It is necessary to obtain the testimony and to examine the books, papers, records, or other data sought by the summonses in order to investigate the corporate federal income tax liabilities of Joplin Flea Market, Inc., for the tax years 2002 and 2003, and the individual income tax liabilities of Laverne Miller for the the tax years 2002 and 2003," the document said.
The documents, filed by Earl W. Brown III, assistant U. S. attorney, ask for a court order directing Miller to provide the information.

Is there not some update information available on this situation. With so many individual small businesses investing finances, time and energy within the Market in question here, I would hope that this information was more widely known locally than it appears to be.

thank you for your efforts in making information available.
