Goodman supporter: Nobody likes Nodler

The latest Seventh District power rankings by Dave Catanese on the the KY3 Political Notebook site, include this assessment of the chances of Sen. Gary Nodler, R-Joplin:

But the main arguments for Nodler's success continue to be fundraising and geography and not personal likability. "I have never felt Gary was that big of a threat because of his lack of popularity," says Lawrence County GOP vice-chair Sherri George, an open Goodman supporter. "Sometimes I wonder how Gary continues to be re-elected. You never hear anybody say positive things about him," adds George.

Admittedly, that point does come from one of Jack Goodman's supporters, but it does hit at Nodler's biggest problem. The only people who like him seem to be the ones who reply to my posts.

Nodler, by the way finished third in the rankings behind Goodman and Springfield auctioneer Billy Long, who were first and second respectively.

Perhaps Gary Nodler himself would answer this question:

The Senator secured $2 million dollars from the state in 2008 for construction of a storm shelter near the MSSU football field. Was it the Senator's intention that MSSU would use this money instead to build an indoor practice facility?

Just Wondering: You may need to ask that question to Nodler's good buddy Dwight Douglas.

I am relieved to learn that other politicians are ahead of Nodler in the ract to the U.S. House of Representatives. I am used to being represented in Washington by the likes of Blunt, Hancock, Taylor, but the people of SW Missouri deserve better than what Nodler can deliver.
