The Joplin R-8 School District's Bright Futures program will be featured during the annual Missouri Safe Schools and Colleges Conference, scheduled for Oct. 1-3 at Tan-Tar-A, Osage Beach.
The first day will concentrate on school shootings and will include a presentation from Connecticut State Police on the Sandy Hook shootings and Dr. Mary O'Toole on "What We Have Learned about School Shooters."
The second day programs will concentrate on bullying, but breakout sessions will also be held on other topics, including "Bright Futures: A Positive Initiative Which Helped the Joplin Tornado Disaster Recovery."
