FLASH FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH SATURDAY AFTERNOON... THE FLASH FLOOD WATCH CONTINUES FOR * PORTIONS OF SOUTHEASTERN KANSAS AND THE MISSOURI OZARKS. * THROUGH SATURDAY AFTERNOON * ADDITIONAL ROUNDS OF THUNDERSTORMS WITH HEAVY RAINFALL WILL IMPACT THE REGION FRIDAY MORNING...AND AGAIN FRIDAY NIGHT AND INTO SATURDAY MORNING. THE HEAVY RAIN WILL FALL ON ALREADY SATURATED GROUND WHICH WILL LEAD TO FLASH FLOODING. * TORRENTIAL RAINFALL RATES OF 1 TO 2 INCHES PER HOUR WILL BE COMMON WITH ANY THUNDERSTORMS...WHICH WILL QUICKLY LEAD TO FLASH FLOODING OF STREAMS...LOW LYING OR POOR DRAINAGE AREAS...AND LOW WATER CROSSINGS. BECAUSE OF HIGH WATER TABLES AND SATURATED SOILS AND GROUND...LOCATIONS THAT NORMALLY DO NOT FLOOD WILL BE AT RISK FOR FLOODING. AREAS THAT HAVE RECEIVED EXCESSIVE RAINFALL AND FLOODING THE PAST COUPLE OF DAYS ARE AT PARTICULAR RISK FOR EXTREMELY DANGEROUS FLASH FLOODING. THOSE CAMPING OR FLOATING ON AREA RIVERS SHOULD BE ALERT FOR RISING WATER LEVELS. THOSE TRAVELING OVERNIGHT AND DURING THE MORNING SHOULD BE ALERT FOR FLOODED ROADS. ADDITIONAL RISES AND FLOODING MAY DEVELOP ON MAIN STEM RIVERS. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A FLASH FLOOD WATCH MEANS THAT CONDITIONS MAY DEVELOP THAT LEAD TO FLASH FLOODING. FLASH FLOODING IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. YOU SHOULD MONITOR LATER FORECASTS AND BE PREPARED TO TAKE ACTION SHOULD FLASH FLOOD WARNINGS BE ISSUED.
