(From the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education)
The State Board of Education will hold a special work session at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 10. The purpose of this meeting is to secure Board policy guidance for the Department’s development of a statewide plan for supporting and, if necessary, intervening in unaccredited districts.
Several plans have been submitted for consideration, and the Department has held four public hearings in Kansas City, St. Louis, Sikeston and Springfield.
The Department will present its recommendations to the State Board at its regularly scheduled meeting on Feb. 18. Additional opportunities will be provided for the public to provide input on these recommendations.
Monday’s public work session will take place at the Governor’s Office Building, Room 450, 200 Madison Street, Jefferson City.
